NEW FEATURES IMPROVEMENTS BUG FIXES

We’re delighted to announce the May 2025 update to Workflows for Confluence has just been released.

New features 💎

  • It is now possible to integrate Workflows with Communardo’s Metadata for Confluence app. The integration allows you to automatically utilise users configured within Metadata as approvers within Workflows. To learn more about this feature, please take a look at our documentation.

  • The publish content action now supports the presence of folders in the page tree. If you are publishing with the clone page ancestry option enabled, and the page you are publishing has a folder as a parent, the publish content action will now successfully complete.

Improvements 🛠️

  • The search page will now show the space alias in place of the autogenerated space key for personal spaces.

  • In the workflow builder, when a workflow is updated and an error occurs during the update, the user who updated the workflow will now receive an information email. As a result, the user will now be able to rectify any issues and ensure that the update has applied to all appropriate pages successfully.

    • Please note that the information email will only be sent in case of failure.

Bug fixes 🐛

  • If a link containing special characters is included on a page, and this page is published using the publish content action, the link will now be updated to redirect to the published space as expected.

    • There is an existing limitation imposed by Atlassian which means that if the link contains an emoji pasted into Confluence, the link redirection update will fail. Other links and the page itself will publish successfully.

  • Previously, if a workflow was applied to a very large number of pages, and a user updated the workflow’s configuration, the update would occasionally time out. This would appear as a failure even if the update completed successfully. We have now resolved this bug so that if the workflow is updated successfully, the completion of the update will be communicated, regardless of how many pages the workflow is applied on.

Updating to the latest version: this update has been automatically applied to Workflows for Confluence, so no action is required from you.
