IMPROVEMENTS BUG FIXES

We’re delighted to announce the July 2025 update to Workflows for Confluence has just been released.

Improvements 🛠️

  • We have introduced enhanced analytics to gain deeper insights into app usage, enabling us to delivery value faster to our users. You can manage your analytics settings in the Workflows global admin area within the Analytics tab.

  • We have added tooltips to the approvers displayed in the byline when a page is in an approval stage to specify whether they have been added within the workflow builder itself, the manage additional approvers pop up, or via Communardo’s Metadata for Confluence integration.

  • Administrators can now view and revoke unvalidated approval tokens on the Approval Tokens page.

  • On the Page History (Workflow Info) of a page with a workflow applied, the Approval Information popup now displays the source of the given approvers.

  • We have slightly modified the behaviour of approve and reject quorums for approval stages. In the case where all approvers have made a decision (approved or rejected), it used to be possible for a workflow to transition even if a quorum was not being met; it would transition based on which decision has the most ‘votes’. This behaviour has now been removed to make quorums more predictable. The approval stage will now be ‘blocked’ until additional approvers are added or quorum settings are changed.

    • This also improves the behaviour of quorums when using the ‘Additional Approvers’ feature. For example, prior to this change, you could set an approve quorum of 5, dynamically add 1 approver via the byline window, and transition the workflow based on this singular approver’s decision due to the ‘voting’ behaviour taking effect whilst there are no other approvers.

Bug fixes 🐛

  • We have performed some fixes for the quorum calculations that occur via clicking the ‘Sync’ button in the byline window and that occur via re-calculating quorums for active workflows on pages (after updating an approval stage in the workflow editor). (Quorum calculations that occur after approver decisions, the most common scenario, were working as expected prior to this fix.) In particular, these fixes apply to:

    1. Approval stages that use ‘Per Group’ quorums (individual quorums for configured approver groups).

    2. Approval stages that use the ‘exclude roles’ feature.
