Workflows Approval Management Macro

The Workflows Approval Management macro allows users to specify approvers for each approval stage when a workflow is applied to a page. This is perfect for users who want more flexibility when defining page-specific approvers for their approval stages without having to create additional workflows or having to wait for an approval stage to be reached.

Approval Management Macro

For each approval stage in the workflow, the macro will display the approvers added via the workflow builder and a field to allow users to specify additional approvers (users or groups) they would like to add. Users will only be able to add additional approvers if the Enable Approval Management Macro option is enabled in the configuration of the approval stage.

This gives users additional flexibility to predefine approvers for each approval stage in the workflow without needing to add them via the workflow builder. Additional approvers added via the macro will only exist on the applied page and will not affect the same workflow applied to other pages. Each page should have a maximum of one Workflows Approval Management macro.

As you transition through the workflow, any approvers added via the macro will be displayed in the byline window. The decisions of approvers added via the macro to an approval stage will count towards approve and reject quorums defined for that approval stage.

If the Enable Approval Management Macro option in the configuration of the approval stage is toggled off, users will not be able to add additional approvers to the macro for the corresponding approval stage and the option will be greyed out.

Approvers added via other sources (for example, the workflow builder or ‘Additional Approvers’ dialog) cannot be removed via the Approval Management Macro. Approvers added via the Approval Management Macro can only be removed via the macro.

Add the Workflows Approval Management macro

To add the Approval Management macro to the page, type ‘/workflow’ and select Workflows Approval Management Macro from the drop-down list, as shown below.
