Migrating to Cloud

Due to the discontinuation of Atlassian Server applications and Atlassian’s rapidly evolving cloud platform, we understand that many organizations will be looking to move from their Server or Data Center Confluence instances to a cloud environment.

As a result, marketplace apps (like ours) are an important consideration as part of the migration process.

Are there any differences between the on-premise and cloud versions of Compliance for Confluence?

At this stage, all major features of Compliance DC are now present on Compliance Cloud. There are some minor differences between how these features operate, typically due to limitations placed on Cloud applications, and these are noted in the relevant documentation.

In addition, Compliance Cloud has some features that are not available on Compliance DC, including schemes (a more flexible way to manage the application of levels to your instance), sublevels (a secondary label for more granular classification), and the instance-wide admin dashboard.

We have provided this detailed comparison between the on-premise and cloud versions of Compliance for Confluence so you can better understand their differences and make the decisions that are right for your organization.

Can you migrate Compliance for Confluence from on-premise to the cloud?

There is currently no automated migration pathway in place to migrate your Compliance for Confluence data from Server/Data Center to Confluence Cloud.

If you do decide to move to Confluence Cloud, you can use the bulk classification feature to streamline the page re-classification process once you are set up in your cloud environment. This feature will enable you to classify a large number of pages in a matter of minutes.
