You can easily update a Restriction Scheme and adjust the types of access restrictions that it contains. This may be useful if you update your data handling policies or need to change how page access is managed in Confluence.

Editing a Restriction Scheme

To edit a Restriction Scheme, start by accessing the Restriction Schemes settings in Compliance for Confluence (as shown below).

Choose the Restriction Scheme you want to edit from the table displayed and then click the three dot ellipsis to bring up the drop down menu (as shown below).

The drop down menu will display three options:

  • Edit

  • Set Restrictions

  • Delete

This will allow you to update the name and description of a Restriction Scheme using the fields shown below.

Set Restrictions

Set Restrictions will allow you to adjust the users and groups who have View and Edit Permissions, or just View Permissions. You can the settings below to adjust the configuration.

After making the changes click Save and the Restriction Scheme will be updated.

Once a user or group has been added to a field and you have clicked Save they will have immediately access to these pages in Confluence.

This will allow you to delete a Restriction Scheme from Compliance for Confluence.

If there are pages/spaces using this Restriction Scheme you will be required to select a new Restriction Scheme for the affected pages.
