Enhancing Approvals with Automation

Take advantage of the automation features built into the pro version of Approvals for Trello and streamline your approval processes. The automation will move cards to specific lists in your Trello board based on the approval status. For example, if a card is approved you could use the automation to move it to a list that’s named “Approved” or “Ready to go”.

It’s a great way to save time and let Approvals for Trello take care of some manual tasks for you.

Let’s take a look at how to set up and use the built-in automation.

Note: You will need to upgrade to the Pro version of Approvals for Trello to access this feature.

Setting up card automation based on approval status'

Automation is available in the Pro version of Approvals for Trello. If you have a Pro subscription, you can access automation by following these steps:

  1. Click 🚀 Power-Ups in the top navigation to get the drop-down menu.

  2. Scroll to Approvals for Trello and click :Cog: Settings

  3. Click Edit Power-Up Settings

  4. Click ➕ to add a new team

  5. Name your team, add your Approvers, and select the columns where you would like for the card to move when approved or rejected

Once the approval team is setup, you can assign it to any Card on your Trello Board and when the required number of decisions (approved/rejected) is met, the Card will be automatically moved.

See it in action

As you can see in the example below, the Trello Card automatically moves through the sales pipeline once it has been approved.
