Applying Rule Schemes

Rule Schemes can be applied to Confluence in two ways; globally or to specific spaces. All of this is managed via the Scope (A) page (under the Automations section) within Compliance’s Settings.

To apply a single Rule Scheme to your entire Confluence, ensure Manage Globally (B) is toggled on. If you want to configure different Rule Schemes across spaces, ensure Manage Globally (B) is toggled off.

Applying a Rule Scheme Globally

Using Automation Rules globally is disabled by default. To start using your global Rule Scheme, ensure that Enable Automation Rules (C) is toggled on.

You can configure which global Rule Scheme will be applied across the instance. The default Rule Scheme, containing all your Automation Rules, is selected by default.

Applying Rule Schemes to Individual Spaces

For a more tailored approach to how Automation Rules are used in Confluence, you can apply Rule Schemes to specific spaces. This is particularly useful if there are teams or departments using Confluence who have specific requirements for their spaces.

To apply Rule Schemes to individual spaces, start by ensuring the Manage Globally option is toggled off. This will enable you to select individual spaces under the Space Settings (D) heading on the Scope page.

Next, find the space(s) you want to apply Rule Schemes to and ensure the Enable Automation Rules (E) option is toggled on. You can select the Rule Schemes (F) you have created from the drop-down menu. Once a Rule Scheme has been selected, it will be automatically applied to this space in Confluence.
