As an IT Administrator, Djamal maintains the Jira Cloud instances in this company. Recently, some of his colleagues reported performance issues with Jira Software and Jira Service Desk. After investigating, he found that there are many Dashboards, Filters, and Filter Subscriptions created by users who no longer have access to the system. Djamal also found other Jira objects that have not been used for a long time, such as Projects, Fields, Schemes, Screens, and Workflows.

Product Features

  • Identifying Unused Jira Objects

  • Using the Optimizer for Jira Interface

Use Case

Djamal is using Optimizer to analyze the state of a Jira Cloud instance, identify unused objects, and perform bulk actions on configuration items. Using bulk actions saves him a huge amount of time as large Jira instances often contain hundreds or thousands of configuration elements.

As a Jira admin, Djamal wants to be able to see at a glance where and how configuration elements are used in the system. He often performs maintenance tasks such as removing objects that are rarely used or not used at all to ensure that Jira remains easy to use and has low has response time.

Optimizer enables Jira Administrators, like Djamal, to see how many issues are associated with each Project across the entire system.

This allows admins to quickly identify Projects that don't contain any Issues, and also delete the Projects that are no longer required.

Admins can also use the Columns menu to display additional properties such as Last Updated which can be used to sort and identify rarely used Projects.

As you can see, Optimizer for Jira gives you a quick and easy way to identify unused objects specific to your teams. The App can be used to perform basic administrative tasks but also contains features that gives businesses greater control over visibility across Jira.
