Required Page Restrictions

To ensure that Workflows is working as expected, it is important for the Workflows for Confluence user to have appropriate access to pages themselves.

If the Workflows for Confluence user does not have access to the appropriate pages, you will see the message shown below.

Choosing the right level of access

If you’re unsure about which features are used in your workflow, we recommend giving the Workflows for Confluence user editing access. You can also choose to be more granular when providing access to individual pages, following the requirements set out below.

For these actions, edit access is required:

  • Expiration on Page Edit functionality

  • Create Child Page action

These actions require view-only access:

  • Publish Content action

Other actions do not require special restrictions when they are carried out on behalf of users with appropriate access, e.g. adding comments to a page.

Setting page restrictions

To set page restrictions, click on the lock button in the top right-hand corner of your screen. You can now view and search for the Workflows for Confluence user, as shown below.

Choose the appropriate level of access and click Apply to save the changes.
